Privacy Policy
What we collect
- Account data: email address and name (or your Steam ID / Epic account ID if you sign in through those stores).
- Game data: your creator, posts, purchases of virtual items, and activity needed to run the game.
- Payment records: order and payment IDs, amounts and status from Razorpay, Steam or Epic. We never receive or store card numbers, UPI IDs or bank details.
- Technical data: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and basic server logs (IP address, device and browser) for security.
Epic Games sign-in
If you choose Epic sign-in, we use your Epic account ID to identify your game account and an authentication token to verify sign-in and check full-game ownership. We do not receive your Epic password. We do not request your Epic friends list for these features. Epic handles its own account and store data under Epic Games’ privacy policy.
Local saves and device storage
Desktop local careers and saves are stored on your computer separately from your online career. Playing a local career does not require an online game account. Online sign-in and purchases use the services described below. The game also uses browser storage for audio preferences, tutorial progress and your position in the District. Clearing that storage resets those preferences; removing local save files can permanently remove a local career.
What other players can see
Online play includes shared features such as player presence, leaderboards and activity feeds. Your creator handle, profile and gameplay activity may be visible to other players. Avoid putting personal or sensitive information in your creator handle or public profile.
Why we use it
To provide the game and your account, process purchases and refunds, prevent cheating and fraud, keep the service secure, meet legal and tax obligations, and answer your requests. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run the game: hosting and database providers, Amazon Web Services (sign-in), Razorpay (payments), and Valve (Steam) or Epic Games when you play through their stores. Each receives only what it needs. We may disclose data when the law requires it.
Website analytics
We use Microsoft Clarity on the web version to understand how visitors use the site through usage analytics, heatmaps and session replays. Clarity may use cookies and collect interaction, device and browser information. See Microsoft’s Privacy Statement for details. Clarity is not enabled in the bundled desktop game.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists, and afterwards only as long as needed for legal, tax and dispute purposes (including records needed for applicable accounting and tax requirements).
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, or nominate someone to act for you. Email contact@higglerslab.com; we reply within 30 days. You may also contact our Grievance Officer, Vasanth, at the same address, and you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
The game is not meant for children under 13. Purchases by anyone under 18 need a parent or guardian’s permission.
Security
Data is sent over HTTPS, passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and never stored in plain text, and payment details stay with the payment provider.
Policy updates
We may update this policy as the game and its services change. The date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the game or website.
